This stoop is located 307 West 4th Street between Bank Street and West 12th Street in Greenwich Village. Apparent in the shadows are wrought iron panels encompassing a central roundel flanked vertically by anthemions and tendrils. The raking winter light bends and distorts these forms into an almost psychedelic abstraction. This was one of several paintings chosen for a group show curated by Adrian Sudhalter, an assistant curator at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
